Office Feng Shui: Say Goodbye to Bad Vibes!

By: Paulina Aguilar

In Feng Shui for the office, we tell you how to organize your workspace to keep away bad vibes and achieve a better performance in a harmonious environment.

Your workplace should be a place where you feel comfortable and full of energy. However, many times, stress, long hours and fatigue can affect your spiritual balance.

Fortunately, the solution can be found in the ancient philosophy of Feng Shui, the Taoist system of conscious occupation of space, to achieve a positive energy flow in the environment.

Best of all, it works anywhere, so with these tips you can shield your office from negative energies and attract very good vibes:

1.- Desk: Without a doubt, this is the most important element of the office. It should never be in front of the door or with your back to it directly, since you will be exposed to the bad energies that circulate. Ideally, it should be located diagonally to the door and always in front of a wall that protects your back.

2.- Angles: Avoid angular furniture, as they disperse Chi energy (life force). If it is not possible to change your furnishings, try to place them against walls to minimize their straight lines and set circular decorations on top of them.

3.- Plants: Place plants in the most conflictive areas of your workplace or where the most confrontations occur (the boardroom, for example). One recommendation is bamboo. It should be added that plants should always be in odd numbers to maximize their energy.

4.- Old furniture: Broken chairs or decaying furniture attract negative energies. In addition, in the subconscious, they create a hostile environment for the rest of the workers. The best thing to do (if they are beyond repair) is to get rid of them immediately.

5.- Color: the colors of your office should follow the precepts of Yin and Yang to maintain a proper balance. Lavender, mint green and sky blue are Yin colors that you should contrast with some details of Yang colors (which are opposites; the chromatic circle can help you combine them).
